                              Journal Entry 24April



                              commerce wearied me
                              almost to death
                              before it spat me out.
                              what's left of me is a cottage
                              filled with fireflies bumping artlessly
                              and a terrible, ridiculous longing

                              there's a deep pond out back
                              a ring of stones for hypnotic fires
                              a knot of herbs, some silly zinnias
                              and a blanket on the grass

                              but who lives here?
                              a winged stranger.
